Rick Morgan, KAFY Bakersfield CA. March 1978

This is a rare aircheck of teenager Rick Morgan on KAFY in Bakersfield, California. It was March, 1978, and Uncle Ricky was the Program Director. For the last couple of decades, at least, Rick Morgan has been better known as Rick Gillette. He's a great guy. Hey Rick! Elvis and I will celebrate our birthdays on January 8th. What a great time to subscribe to REELRADIO! My thanks to George Junak of California Aircheck for this birthday exhibit.

Dr. Don Rose KFRC San Francisco March 10 1978

Everyone can appreciate an unscoped hour of a CLASSIC morning show on the first work week of the New Year.. and here it is! Originally published without the music on November 10, 1996, it's FRESH and UNSCOPED and sounds at least a dozen years better! Our thanks to The Jeff March Collection for this wonderful aircheck of the legendary Dr. Don Rose.

"... Todd (Storz) and some others were sitting around figuring out what they could do on their station and they noticed that WDSU had a program called the Top 20. And they thought if the Top 20 was successful, that the Top 40 would be even better - and that's what they said - We're going to be twice as good as WDSU 'cause we're gonna play - The Top 40."
